Syllabus
Part 1
(1) History of India and Indian National Movement
Information on the social, cultural, economic and political aspects of Indian history. The Indian National Movement – A comprehensive information of the freedom movement, the rise of nationalism and the attainment of independence.
(2) Geography of India and World
Information on the country’s physical, social and economic geography, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, population and urbanization patterns, smart cities and smart villages under the geography of India. General information about the world geography.
(3) Economic and Social Development of India
Sustainable development, poverty alleviation, demography, social sector initiatives etc. Candidates will be tested on the relationship and problems between population, environment and urbanization.
(4) Indian Polity and Indian Constitution
Knowledge of political system including constitutional development in India, Indian Constitution, Indian political system and governance, Panchayati Raj and local self-government, public policy and official issues and community development.
(5) General Science and Technology
General Science questions will be based on general understanding and knowledge of science, including topics related to everyday experience and observation.
Science and Technology – Application of India’s Science and Technology policy in everyday life, development and national security. Achievements of Indians in science and technology, indigenization of technology. Development of new technologies, dual-use and technologically useful technologies.
(6) Environmental Ecology and Disaster Management
General information on general issues related to environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change.
Disasters in India, disaster mitigation and disaster management. Disaster Management Act, 2005, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and various agencies working in the field of disaster management in India.
(7) Current Events of National and International Importance
Knowledge of recent events at both national and international levels.
(8) Data Interpretation
Data Interpretation – Interpretation and analysis of data. Statistical Analysis – Graphs and Diagrams to test the candidate’s ability to draw general knowledge conclusions from information presented in statistical and graphical diagrams.
(9) Important Legal Provisions and Policies Related to Excise in Uttar Pradesh
United Provinces Excise Act-1910 (as amended) and general information about molasses, alcohol and other intoxicants, important government orders related to excise and Uttar Pradesh Excise Policy 2025-26.

Salary
Selected candidates will receive salary under Pay Level-2:
₹19,900 – ₹63,200 per month
In addition to basic pay, candidates will be entitled to DA, HRA, TA, Medical Facilities, Pension Benefits, and other allowances as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.
