Educational Qualification
Technician Grade III
Candidates should possess:
- Matriculation (10th Pass/SSLC)
- ITI in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT
OR
- Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade.
Technician Grade I Signal
Candidates should possess one of the following:
- Diploma in Engineering (Relevant Discipline)
OR
- B.Sc.
OR
- Engineering Degree in the prescribed discipline.
Candidates should refer to the official notification for the post-wise qualification requirements.
Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)
Technician Grade I Signal
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 33 Years
Technician Grade III
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Technician Grade III
- Pay Level-2

Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination
Final selection will be based on merit and successful completion of document verification and medical fitness.
Exam Pattern
Computer Based Test (CBT):
There will be a separate CBT for each pay level.
1. Pattern & Syllabus of CBT for Pay Level- 5 post i.e., Technician Gr I Signal
(a) Total Duration: 90 min & Total Questions: 100
(b) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
(c) Normalization of marks will be done for CBT held in multiple shifts.
(d) Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various communities: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)-30%, SC-30% and ST-25%. This is also applicable to Ex. Servicemen category candidates, as per their community. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
(e) The marks scored in CBT shall be used for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this recruitment process.
(f) Syllabus for CBT of Technician Gr I Signal: Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus:
