Coal India Limited Management Trainee Eligibility

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Document Verification
  3. Initial Medical Examination

There will be no interview for most disciplines.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will be appointed in E-2 Grade with pay scale:

  • ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000
  • Initial Basic Pay: ₹60,000 per month
  • Additional benefits include DA, HRA, medical facilities, provident fund, and other PSU allowances.

Computer Based Online Test

The examination will be conducted in a single session lasting 3 hours and will include two sections — Paper I and Paper II — carrying 100 marks each. Paper I will cover subjects such as General Knowledge & Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English, while Paper II will focus on discipline-specific professional knowledge. Both papers will contain 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question carrying one mark. No negative marking will be applied for incorrect responses, and unanswered questions will not receive any marks. The examination will be available in both English and Hindi. However, if any discrepancy arises in the Hindi translation, the English version will be treated as final and authoritative. The minimum qualifying marks for the Computer-Based Online Test are as follows:
