Educational Qualification

The required qualification depends upon the apprentice category.

Trade Apprentice

Candidates should have passed 10th/SSLC and possess the relevant ITI qualification from NCVT/SCVT in the applicable trade.

Technician Apprentice

Candidates should possess a relevant full-time Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognised institution.

Graduate Apprentice

Candidates should possess the relevant full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or other prescribed graduate disciplines.

The recruitment is intended for recent pass-outs, with the eligibility information indicating candidates who completed the relevant qualification during 2022 to 2026 may apply, subject to the conditions in the respective circular.

Age Limit

The candidate’s age should generally be between:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 27 years

Training Duration

The apprenticeship training will be for one year (12 months).

Candidates should also note that completing apprenticeship training does not guarantee permanent employment with BHEL. Apprenticeship is intended to provide practical industry training and experience.

Selection Process

There is no separate written examination or interview for these apprentice positions.

Selection will be made through a merit list based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination:

  • Trade Apprentice: ITI marks
  • Technician Apprentice: Diploma marks
  • Graduate Apprentice: Degree marks

In case of a tie between candidates, the prescribed tie-breaking criteria will be applied.
